Grisaille Digital Painting: Learned Phobias

For this project we were challenged to create a digital grisaille still life painting. I chose to use my own objects and used an antique clown doll that used to belong to my dad, and an origami that my friend made for me.

"Beyond The Sea" Storyboard Animatic

My storyboard for my 3 minute film that will be created this semester has been brought to life in a storyboard animatic! I will be using this animation as reference when creating my film this semester. I did the voice acting and all the sound effects were downloaded from sound bible. The video can be viewed here.

Final Sequential Art 2 Works

I greatly and deeply enjoyed my sequential art 2 class. As students, we were pushed to our most full learning potential, and I learned so much and am so happy with my final project. For our final project, we were instructed to create a 2 paged black and white comic and create 2 environment paintings that were from said comic. I am creating a 3 minute digitally animated film of this story for my fourth semester. My process notebook can be seen here with all the character design, sketches and process.

I enjoyed my final semester with Figure Drawing, I worked mostly with toned paper, using graphite and white charcoal.

Oil Paintings from Painting 1

I particularly struggled with oil paints. They are quite expensive, not to mention very messy and strongly scented. I would not mind doing it again though and moving on to a second painting class provided the chance. But, here are a few of my favorite paintings from that class.

Storyboard: The Exchange

For this project, we were assigned to create a storyboard for a short scene. Two people meet each other in the street and exchange something, leaving either together or apart. Cuteness ahead!

Rock Bar: Rube Goldberg Machine

For this short film of a Rube Goldberg machine, I modeled out every prop and essential parts of the environment in 3ds max and animated the entire short film, all in my first year of the animation program. I decided to create a Rube Goldberg machine out of an entire Rock and Roll bar.  I have a special place in my heart for classic rock, and the aesthetic of these bars have always been very appealing to me. Anthropomorphic Character Project: Chameleon Acrobat

For this project, we were assigned to create an anthropomorphic character who had a job to do in a former time period. I chose a Chameleon who is an acrobat auditioning for the circus, but he swings from his tongue and tail! I made a one minute film of this character in my third semester.You can view the process notebook here

Skull and Facial Muscles Sculpt

Our assignment was to sculpt out a realistic human skull with half of the skull covered in anatomically correct facial muscles. You can view the process notebook here .

The Girl With Shark Teeth: Sculpt Proc. for the Animator Project

For this project, we were given a criteria to create a stylized character of a different nationality under a specific story guideline, then sculpt a bust of the character using Zbrush. I chose someone "outcast who is happy all the time" So, I created a story of a girl who wants to be an oceanographer. She is bitten by a new kind of shark she has found in the ocean right by her home. She wakes up the next morning to find that she has grown a full set of shark teeth! But she is thrilled to bits because she feels she can grow closer to the fish in the ocean. You can see my whole process notebook here

Macbeth: Silent Comic

In my second semester, when I took Sequential Art 1, I was assigned to create a one page silent comic from a Shakespearean play, but in a different time period and style. I chose the 50's mafia, and the play Macbeth. This is the scene where Macbeth turns to see Banquo's ghost sitting in his chair, right after he is told that he has been successfully killed at Macbeth's command.

I used ink with brush, and micron pens as well as watercolor for this piece. Below, you will see some of my reference photos

Happy Cat Bell Peppers

This was a project in my first semester at Mohawk Valley Community College; from my Digital Applications 1 class. We were instructed to create an old fashioned fruit (as well as veggie) crate label using Illustrator. I chose Bell Peppers because my god are they tasty; especially grilled.
